Dr. Gindu Borang (b. 07 January 1973), is an able administrator, a seasoned academician and a cultural advocate with remarkable contributions in the field of higher education in Arunachal Pradesh. He holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in History from Rajiv Gandhi University (formerly Arunachal University), Doimukh. Having over 28 years of experience in teaching, research and institutional leadership in government colleges of Arunachal Pradesh, he is committed to fostering an environment where both teaching and learning thrive at the highest levels.

Dr. Borang began his professional career as a faculty member in the Department of History at Donyi Polo Govt. College, Kamki in the year 1997. Thereafter, he goes on to serve various govt. colleges of the state, namely, Wangcha Rajkumar Govt. College, Deomali (formerly Govt. College, Khonsa), Jawaharlal Nehru College, Pasighat and Govt. College, Yachuli where he was widely respected for his pedagogical expertise, research acumen, and dedication to student mentorship.

In 2013, Dr. Borang was assigned to lead the newly established T.T. Govt. College, Nyapin as its Principal. Then, in 2018, he was posted as the Principal of Govt. College, Yachuli where he honed his academic administration skills and laid a strong foundation for the college’s academic reputation. He has significantly contributed through his relentless efforts in successfully obtaining the permanent affiliation to Rajiv Gandhi University, Doimukh and UGC recognition under Section 2 (f) & 12 (B) for the college.

Dr. Borang was transferred to Donyi Polo Govt. College, Kamki in 2021. During his tenure as Principal, he had been instrumental in strengthening the college’s academic standing and institutional quality. Most notably, he played a pivotal role in the successful NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) re-accreditation process and guided the college to achieve Grade ‘B’ in its most recent cycle. His strategic planning, data-driven assessments, and emphasis on continuous improvement have set new benchmarks for institutional governance and academic standards.

Dr. Gindu Borang joined Jawaharlal Nehru College, Pasighat on 02 February 2026 as its 21st Principal. With his vast experience in teaching, academic administration and cultural scholarship, Dr. Borang brings a deep commitment to educational excellence and holistic student development. Known for his approachable demeanor and principled leadership, he believes in the transformative power of education.

Dr. Borang is also an accomplished author and cultural documentarian. He has to his credit a scholarly book titled “Changing Social and Cultural Institutions of Adi (Padam) of Arunachal Pradesh” (2013) and a poetry collection titled “Muːbung Asir: Adi-English Poems” (2017) reflecting his deep commitment towards preservation and promotion of tribal culture and heritage.

Outside academia, Dr. Borang is a social media influencer as Tínlíng Gindu Borang aka TGB. Besides being a song writer, he is a producer of movies and music videos. He also runs a YouTube channel named TGB Immang Ledu.
