Jawaharlal Nehru College, Pasighat, was established on 3 July 1964 as a premier institution of higher education in Arunachal Pradesh. Across its long and distinguished journey, the college has been the alma mater of numerous personalities who have served the state and society in significant roles.
Changing educational needs and the growing demand for skilled human resources created a strong need to bring JNC alumni under one umbrella. Former students spread across the country and beyond possess valuable experience that can contribute to higher education, institutional growth and social development.
As proud products of the college, alumni are uniquely placed to assess its strengths and shortcomings and suggest constructive ways forward. Their continued spirit and enthusiasm can give momentum to sound and healthy programmes for their alma mater.

The first meeting was convened on 4 March 2006 at the JNC Auditorium, Lower Campus, under the initiative of Dr. B. K. Nath.
A meeting was convened on 9 December 2012 by Sri T. Talom, Principal, JNC Pasighat, and a new committee was constituted.
